I have gone to "Asakusa" on business today.

Asakusa is one of the downtowns in Tokyo.

An old town also remains.
The illumination shone though it did not know the reason.

"Tenpura-Udon"?


Do you know "Tenpura-Udon"?
Don't you know "Tenpura"?

The "Udon" is a kind of the noodle.
The one in the photograph is "Tenpura-Udon" sold in the stall in the amusement park.
(Eat the child's being pleased. )

"Tenpura" is put on the noodle.
It was a certainty, and about 500 yen(about 4.3 $).

Please eat it, if you travel around Japan.

It is considerably delicious in reasonable.

"Sith" was recalled(STARWARS,dark side)


57-year-old man was arrested,Yesterday.
He is apparently living in Tokyo with 10 women in their 20s and 30s and a baby.
He seems to be a very strange man.

"KYO-YUZEN"



I write about some craft goods.
It is related to "Kyoto",not to"Tokyo"

Maybe you don't know "Kyo-yuzen".
"Kyo"means Kyoto.
"Yuzen" is a word that shows the Ayasama dye.

It to be handwriting coming originally and coloring of the person.
"kata-yuzen" with a paper pattern increased after the Meiji era.
It is one of a Japanese original dye.

So, the purse made from the material of "Kyo-yuzen" is this.
This purse is very light.
It is sold in the souvenir shop in Kyoto ,too.

"UKIYOE"






Do you know "Ukiyoe"?

They are pictures of painters in Edo period.
It was completed by "Moronobu Hishikawa" in the latter half of the 17th
century.
Customs,the portrait,the scenery, the play, and the sumo wrestling etc.
were portrayed.

Especially, the multi color printing print that was called "Nishikie"
influenced a French impressionist school.
The author of "Harunobu Suzuki", "Utamaro Kitagawa","Tousyusai Sharaku","Hiroshige
Utagawa(Ando)", and "Hokusai Katsushika", etc. is famous.

By the way,This is a purse "Ukiyoe"print.
This purse is very light.
It is sold by the souvenir shop of Kyoto.

Will you think that it is an unusual thing?

Tokyo is unusual and a snow today. The snowfall of six centimeters will be observed for the first time in Otemachi this winter at 1:00PM. After recording eight centimeters on January 27,'01, it is after an interval of five years that the snowfall of six centimeters or more was confirmed in the center of a city.

So,maybe many Japanese people are drinking"Warm sake"today,because of a cold climate.
When "Sake" is warmed, this pottery is used,and it's called "Tokkuri".
It drinks in the small glass set to.
The small glass is called "Ochoko".

"Katsu-Don"


This is a food that is called a "Katsu-Don", and one of the major dishes also in Japan.

"Katsu"is a meaning of the pork cutlet.
"Don"is a meaning of bowl.

There is rice below though pork that fried in oil and the egg.

Please eat this by all means when you come to Japan.

By the way, the one in the photograph was a box lunch that did the takeout, and the price was 504 yen (about 4.5$).

"Issyou" means about 1.8 liters, and "Bin" is a meaning of the bottle.

There is various kinds of sake.

It is porcelain that the handle with beautiful indigo was expressed in white foundation.

"SOMETSUKE" seems to be called "blue and white" in English.

The production person's signature and the made place, etc. are recorded on the back side of the plate.

This is a cream croquette.
I eat it for lunch yesterday.
Rice, pickles, and the miso-soup were 890 yen for the set.
Almost Japanese people likes rice and miso-soup.
